Clays Ferry Bridge
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
1993 – 1998
Constructed in three phases in order to maintain all lanes of freeway traffic around the clock, this new steel truss bridge carries I-75 at a height of over 200′ above the Kentucky River. Over 5,400 cubic yards of mass concrete were placed in the main piers for this bridge, in one of the first applications of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s thermal control specification for mass concrete.
