Description:
This project, part of the country’s largest development of new run-of-the-river hydroelectric power generating units, adds 76 megawatts of new, renewable energy to the area. Located at Smithland Lock and Dam on the Ohio River, the power plant featured approximately 883,000 cubic yards of underwater excavation as well as the placement 89,245 cubic yards of concrete and 200,000 cubic yards of roller compacted concrete, both produced on-site with a Mahan owned and operated batch plant.
Contract completed in February 2015.
