Description:

C.J. Mahan Construction Company worked as a subcontractor to Bizzack Construction Inc. on these design-build structures.  The signature bridge features a 1,727’ x 10” twin cast-in-place segmental structure with trapezoidal box superstructure, segmental spans of 268.5’, 489’, 489’, and 268.5’ plus two precast concrete girders with spans of 110’ and 103’, and unique H-shaped pier columns with heights in excess of 200’ making it the tallest bridge in Virginia.  Concrete was produced on-site with a Mahan owned and operated dry-mix batch plant.

Substantial completion reached in June 2015.
